The National Women’s Law Center is looking for undergraduate volunteers willing to spend 35 or more hours per week. This National Women’s Law Center is an organization that is not-for-profit and legal advocacy that promotes women’s rights especially those with low incomes and girls. The most important areas of focus are education work, economic security, and health.

The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) is looking for interns to join Our Child Care Group. The intern is available during the fall (August-December) and spring (January-April) or summer (May-August). Dates for starting and ending are adjustable. Interns are expected to be in part-time, or for longer periods in the spring and fall semesters.
This Child Care intern’s responsibilities will include assisting with working on the Strong Start for Children Campaign as well as working on a research project on low wage workers’ scheduling and childcare and working on an idea in connection with the introduction of the law that reauthorizes the Child Care and Development Block Grant as well as conducting research and aiding in the writing of newsletters, blogs, interacting with the field of child care as well as taking part in and documenting relevant meetings and other duties as required.

Health and Reproductive Rights Student Internships
Summary
The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) is looking for a spirited person with a keen eye for detail to assist NWLC’s Outreach team , which assists its Health and Reproductive Rights team. The intern will be available in during the fall (August to December) and the spring (January-April) and during summer (May-August). Dates for starting and ending are open to change. Interns must be available full-time in the summer months and also part-time in the spring and fall semesters.

Obligations and Responsibilities
The Health and Reproductive Rights (HRR) Outreach Intern supports the Outreach team by working on projects and tasks that span diverse areas of concern, including the work on health reform and family planning, rights to abortion, and our numerous pro-reproductive rights initiatives. They can be involved in planning conferences communication for advocacy, fieldwork the placement of resources, webinars and other online events. He writes blog posts for the blog of the Center, and assists with blog marketing. The intern responds to departmental advocacy initiatives, helps with general outreach initiatives and is a regular participant in a variety of rallies, briefings and hearings in DC. HRR Outreach Intern HRR Outreach Intern also helps create a variety of websites and charts of local, state and national advocates as well as associated organizations.
Effective interns are proactive. They search for work to complete, ask questions and attend events that give them an opportunity to connect with NWLC staff as well as others working in the field.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have university coursework, strong research abilities, and work experience in a workplace. They must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Word is required and previous experience using Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is highly desirable. The Outreach Intern should be acquainted with online communication methods.
The intern should be organized and self-motivated. They must be able to work on their own as well as prioritize tasks and finish assignments within the time and with precision. He or she must be committed to women’s rights that are progressive.
